RADIATOR SUPPORT QUESTION??? help me out again......
Hi all,
I just found a bunch of dreaded rust on the rad support... I was hoping it wasn't so bad and I could weld it. TOO much rust in the bottom. MY QUESTION... what C3 years have interchangeable Radiator support. Do I need a 1970 support? Can I use another year, maybe some bolt hole modification? I could buy a new one, but I can get a 76 at a really good price.
Thanks

some 69 thru 72 share supports but the 76 is way different. You'll have to order your specific part.

Since I now have a welding buddy with some good fab skills, in NO way would I ever bother buying a new support.....too easy to make one....hardware store angle iron and a bit of inventiveness, and an afternoon is about all it takes...

I just went through this on my ’74. Bubba stuffed a ’69-’73 in mine using some original brackets. Really don’t recommend substitutions as your fan shroud has a tight clearance with the fan blades and you get to test this only once if not enough space. With a broken motor mount my fan ate the shroud at the drag strip. This will stop your fun fast. I guess it can be done but not for me (again). Also which radiator and hoses to use? Will the shroud seals fit up?
Zip carries ‘em for $300 (mine was/is $350). Not cheap but less than a C5 payment.

I banged the thing in the ground and so much rust came... I could build another support.. hee hee Sooo... I am really interested in a 1970 frame support, 350, muncie and air. THANKS! :banghead:
