Does anyone have G.M. bought side mufflers and are they 'aluminized' are just steel? I know someone who has an old set in good shape(maybe never used). Just wondering if they were aluminized back then--if not they'll probably rust pretty quickly. Also are they as good as the aftermarkets like on Ecklers? Thanks :cheers:

The GM issued side exhaust pipes are carbon steel (magnet will stick) with the GM part numbers stamped in each pipe. As for the exhaust pipe covers, there was a change over in attaching configuration from early to late.
