Re: C6 on cover of European Mag (GDaina)
Can I ask a silly question ?
Ok, can I ask a second one ?
Dang, this could never end...... :D
Anyway, each generation of Corvettes up until the C5 always improved and changed during their generations. The C1 went from six banger to V8 coupe with fuel injection. The C2's got big blocks and better toys. The C3's, well they started good, got bad and then got better. They went from carbs to injection, better transmissions and rides and better interiors. The bodies changed every few years for looks or improvements. Same with the C1-C2.
C4's improved almost every year and the body and interiors also changed.
Then the C5 comes along - best Vette ever (speaking not of taste and preference but of comfort, performance and reliability).
But they never changed it.
Sure they added the Z06, but big deal. NO body changes, NO major suspension changes (until the mag. shocks on the 2003 Anniv.), no MAJOR engine changes, NO interior changes. But even so, it's an awesome platform.
What is wrong with the C5 that is so bad that they have to change the platform?
Can't they do body / interior / engine mods on the C5 chassis for another 10 years ? It worked for the C3 and C4.
What's the deal ???

Re: C6 on cover of European Mag (Twin_Turbo)
I think I see some C-3-like lines there! Still think it needs retractable headlights. The hidden headlights has been a Corvette feature since 1963. Overall it does look better than the last pictures I saw. It really doesn't make any difference since at $56K+ I'll never have one.

The center bulge looks like a later C3 design. Also the arches above fenders remind me of C3. For some reason I thought that they were using the same frame, just rebodying the C5 to make it a C6.

I kind of like it. I'm waiting to actually see one in person before I really believe that is the C6 though.

That front end and those sharp lines make me think of the new Cadillacs  :nonod: . I like nice sexy curves :yesnod: . . . I'll stick to my C3 :steering: .
Although, it does have a little C3 resemblance, hmmmm

Re: C6 on cover of European Mag (My69)
I'm not a huge fan of it...but maybe this will mean the prices of the c5's will come down. I need to replace my '94 z28 soon and I don't like a single car out there today. If the c6 helps push down used c5 prices, that would be cool...at >$55k new, the c6 is out of my range (of sensibility! ).

Re: C6 on cover of European Mag (BSeery)
Look around, C5 prices have been a deal for a while. I have seen a few C5's in the for sale section go for $16-21k lately.

Re: C6 on cover of European Mag (BSeery)
:iagree: And I had mentioned this in a post a couple of months ago. Why change after only 7 years. Especially if it is only a reskin.
I am thinking that is exactly why they are changing so soon. Think about it, everyone who does complain about the C-5 complains about its looks.
IMO, its not that bad. But if the C6 does look like Twins picture it is an improvement IMO.
