Where did you get your door panels?
I have been using TLD and Wilcox for about everything. So far they have had great quality and a lot better pricing. Where have you guys bought your door panels and how was the quality and price? Anybody purchase from the 2 I mentioned? Were the panels good quality?

I think your choices are either the Corvette America panels which several people such as Willcox sells or Al Knoch. I have heard that NCRS people like Al Knoch better, but I went will C/A panels and am satisfied with them.

I bought mine from Corvette Central, but low and behold, they were Corvette America pieces repackaged for CC..?
I'm very pleased with the quality and fit of the panels... Beware of the door pulls/armrests (for 78 on) though... Very poor fit and quality on those!!!!

I bought mine from Rik's and as said before they were from Corvette America.
Sounds like Corvette America is the place to go.

Mine are currently dark red and I want to change them to charcoal. Has anyone had good results in dying door panels with the carpet on the bottom?

also take a look at the Not Quite Perfect (NQP) area at Corvette America, have heard great things about those parts, usually really have to look for the flaw and save $$$.

I bought mine from Ecklers and I think they were Corvette America's also.:)
Skyhigh,
I changed my interior color from dark blue to black. I used SEM products at first but later switched to a brand called Plastikote? from Pep Boys. It worked just as well but cost half as much. The coverage on the door panel was nice and even on the rug. However it made the rug fibers a lot stiffer. I'm sending a picture.

Re: Where did you get your door panels? (BlackRat)
I ordered deluxe panels thru Rik's and they were from Corvette America. Not too pleased as driver's side had lower chrome trim mis mounted by an inch. Had to remove and redrill the mounting holes. Now have an additional headache in that armrest has a 2" bubble where glue has failed. Poor, poor, poor workmanship!!! And spent big bucks to get them...

I got mine from Al Knoch never regretted it once. If it costs a little more I felt it was worth it since I will have to look at it everytime I get in the car. Installation was a breeze, fits like a glove, money well spent.

Re: Where did you get your door panels? (BUGGSY1970)
I got door panels, door pulls, shift console, carpet(80/20), seat covers(std. vinyl), and a-pillar moldings from Corvette America. Overall I'd say the quality was pretty good. Fit was a little off on some pieces. A-piller moldings were the worst. The "velcro" tabs on the backs are not compatible with the stock ones and therefore wouldn't "stick". The color started flaking off the door pulls almost immediately. The door panel pull mounting flanges on the passenger door panel were about 1/4" low, making the pull look a little offset in it's mounting. I developed a wear spot, and eventually a small hole in the driver seat back cover from getting in and out. And finally, the carpet fit was poor, and it got this "fuzzy" look after a few weeks in the main traffic areas. This all together makes it sound worse than it really is. It looks pretty good overall. I never called back to complain, so I don't know if anything could have been done to fix the errors. Once you get it all back together and are driving, who wants to tear everything out again to fix minor stuff? Not me anyway. Price was good, and customer service/shipping time was excellent. If I had it to do over again, I would probably try Knoch, but I feel I got what I payed for.
I don't mean to knock CA. I've dealt with them a few times and found their products and service to be pretty good overall.

Corvette America NQP ("not quit perferct") The foam backing was thicker than it was suppose to be so the door handle (71') almost touches the panel, but they look great and were (I think) $100 cheaper. Bought the NQP dash pad also. Couldn't find anything wrong with it.

I think the name of the place was Virginia Vettes. (1-800-909-vetts) Got 2 Corvette America deluxe panels for $500.00. Excelent quality, fast shipping.

Bought mine from Virgina Vettes (they were from corvette Amer) thru Ebay
2 Door panels (I transfered my trim pieces (my 77 had the deluxe int)), 2 leather seat covers, carpet set for $675 all pieces were of good quality and fit. I had to pay $25 extra for the carpet/vinyl pieces for the door panels.
