Performer Intake install went smooth!
This afternoon I installed a performer intake on the vette. I never imagined the cast iron intakes weighed so much! Install went smoothly until I tried putting the stock dual snorkle on. I got the hood closed and it looked really tight so I opened it up and checked to see if I could see any marks on the hood where it might have touched. I couldn't see anything so I took it out for a shake down run. When I pulled back into the garage I opened the hood again to check things and noticed a very large section of paint missing on the inside of the hood. The snorkle on the right will hit under load!!! Looks like a 14x3 will be in tomorrows plan.

Try putting a dab of grease on the highest point(s).......the grease will show on the underside of the hood if it's too close......try this on the wing nut or cap on the 14 x 3.........
Is your new manifold and EPS or an Air Gap dual plane?????

Re: Performer Intake install went smooth! (standup)
Plenty of room on top (L-88 hood), it was just the snorkles that stick out. The intake is a Performer 2-0. Nothing real fancy! Might be worth a couple HP and Aluminum looks cleaner than the old painted iron intake. 14x3 is the air cleaner size.

Thanks for the info. I thought it was like a four by two, only bigger!
