Mystery sending unit
While working on my starter in my 73 350, I noticed a sending unit above it in the engine. It reminded me of a late model oil sending unit. It has two posts and no wires to it or near it. I could not find any trace of it in my manuals. I have the factory mechanical oil gauge, still works.
Is it supposed to be there or could it be a old test item from a previous repair? Thanks.
Jon

Re: Mystery sending unit (logans73)
I have it on the 74 but of course I have wires going to it. Actually only one but it is jumpered to both posts.

What you probably found is the tem sender unit for the TCS [transmission spark control] system. First type of semi smog control along with the AIR system. Thad
