Obviously you've not seen some of the surfaces i've eaten off :bb
L71's are a bit thin on the ground in OZ, as are most '69 BB at the moment.
Most guy's i've spoke to that have them are after some major buck's for them.
What would you consider a reasonable price over there for a clean L71?

If it's what you wanted, then you didn't pay too much for it. I think I overpaid on mine, but it's what I wanted, so wtf?!

Not only will you enjoy drivin it, but imagine poppin the hood (bonnet?) and hearing all the ohhhs and ahhhs when folks see that beautiful tri-power setup. NIIIIICE!!!!!

Only thing tho, won't it be difficult to drive it on the "wrong" side of the road?

From the description and pictures it looks sweet!!!!!
Some of these cars are really starting to cost a pretty penny.
Again I think the key is if your happy with it that is all that counts.
We are always going to run into people that think we paid to much for the things that we have and that is fine everyone has there own opinion.
To me if I had the money it looks like a good price for what you are getting.
Have fun with it and enjoy it!!!!!!!

How do you ship something like that? Can't imagine they just lash it to the deck, eh? I've been toying with the idea of the ultimate vacation to Europe, which would include my '69 BB and no riders. I'd be worried sick waiting for it to get there, and I imagine it would take a bit of the coin of the realm...

Nice collection, by the way.

My '69 is also an L71. When they say "correct block, heads, manifolds, carbs" I don't know if that means its all original and matching #s. If it is then $30k is not a bad deal at all for a matching #s '69 BB in the condition it appears to be in. Some people think these things are just falling off trees and they are not.

My car wasn't as expensive, and went through a recent resto with new suspension, brakes, engine (1000 miles), trans/rear overhaul, etc. But it is a NOM car (faster than original, however :)). So its value is less.

Some people here said I overpaid for mine, others thought it was right in the ballpark. I researched a lot of cars and pricing is very subjective.

The main thing is that you enjoy the car. I didn't buy my Z06 as an investment  , and I didn't buy my '69 as one either, but it will certainly hold/increase in value in comparison to the '02 car. :D

I sold a '69 350/4speed coupe back in '90 to a dealer who ships vettes around the world and a guy in New Zealand paid $25K for the same vette I sold for $8800. You'd be amazed at the prices these things go for outside of the U.S.

WA 2 FST--your car looks like a million bucks, so you didn't pay too much. Compare it to a new car in the high 20's or low 30's...there's no question which is the better deal, especially considering appreciation/depreciation.

I wish you would post less, so I wouldn't have to regret not buying a 69 BB Vert every damn time I see your car.

The car has a correct "CE" block. Given that it sports a 3.73 gear ration (3.70 would be stock) and they don't state "numbers matching", I would say the car is not original.

Since the car is well documented, looks to be super clean, and a numbers matching L71 should sell in the $40k range depending on color, options, etc., it looks like a nice find.

Enjoy it.

Hang on a minute......I don't want to get a bunch of e-mails from Forum members who think us Kiwis are nutty bars  willing to pay three times the market value....besides, I know the guy that bought your '69 and he found 5lbs of coke under the passenger seat.....I'm doing the maths now and 25k was a bargain :)

Secret Squirrel is right about the Aussie market....when I couldn't find what I wanted here, I started shopping in OZ.....not an option 'cause they wanted big coin for poopie....

I'm openly supporting Squirrel's decision to buy this Vette.....mainly 'cause I know the next time I'm in VIC, he's gonna give me a ride in that big red beast.....we're gonna cruise to Surfers....then he's gonna drop me once we get to the topless metermaids :)
