Default flywheel ?

I was told that a flywheel for a G.M. 454 H.O crate motor would not fit a regular 454, sounds fishy to me!

Default Re: flywheel ? (vettedreams)

Not sure of whether or not it will fit. It might bolt up o.k., but the GM perf sites make mention of a flywheel that is specific to the 454 H.O. and all versions of the 502. I believe it has to do with the changes made to those cranks to accomodate the one piece rear seal or perhaps due to the weight of the newer cranks.

It is mentioned in the details of those crate motors.

FYI

Regards, Mark
