On my frame it is welded on. It's attached to the front side of the rear crossmember (the one at the kickups) at the bottom. On the back side of this crossmember is the front snubber differential mounting bracket.

I'm not sure if the frame you have is the same as my 75. Mine is just a loop formed from a piece of flat maybe 10 or 8 gauge steel. It's welded to the frame and then bends around the cable and a single bolt secures the un-welded end to the frame. Would probably not be a big deal to just make one. The only other way I know of would be to maybe try a salvage yard and have them cut a loop off a bad frame and you could clean it up and weld it to yours.

I just bent that tab on the frame out a little on the bottom to take the old one off and then put the new one on and tapped the tab back in. I am using a 71 frame.
