Default Back from vacation, hit a deer...

Remember that road I was talking about driving? CA-32? Anyways, I'd just gotten off it(last long drive before getting to the Lake). Drove about 3 miles on CA-36 and saw the sucker in the road, couldn't decide which way to go, and it didn't help. The sad thing is, I thought I'd joke about this when I got back... turned out, it wasn't a joke.

It was the hardest hit I'd ever felt when I was driving... blood everywhere.

It's a good thing the deer was already dead, because running over it wasn't too big a deal. Cracked the paint on the plastic spoilers, but these sure are some solid pieces! No body damage, deer did not hit the steering crossmember, did hit the tranny pan and spare tire carrier. Exhaust too.

I pulled over, my friend pulled over. The first thing I said was, "Anyone want barbeque?"

Got to the cabin about 10 min later and washed the blood off the front spoiler with glass cleaner.

Had a fun weekend otherwise, though!

-Steve
PS I hope I got your blood boiling. It's funny that DD and I had this happen to us in the same weekend...

Holy poopie....Good thing you didn't get hurt, could have been alot worse.

And be careful what you say about it. Just look at my avatar and you will see why.

Hole crap indeed  :) so.. did you bbq it?

I had something similar, I actually got hit by a deer once, was driving down a road and a deer ran straight into the side of my car (I was doing about 50), left a huge dent & some blood but the deer took off, seemed to be just a little shaken up.

Pacin,

Would you be mad if I told you to Buck Up! ?

New term: "Road Re-Kill"

By the way, you can't do "doe-nuts" on the highway, they don't have any!

ok,ok, I"ll stop. Hope the car isn't too bad!

Got a spare spare tire carrier I can borrow? The Redneck police have detained mine in the evidence pool. Apparently, the deer I hit was a VIP in Chester CA.
