Default Temp Sender Wire Connector

I bought a new piece of shielding for the left front lower engine area. It is the one that the temperature sender wire goes through so in order to replace it, I have to disconnect the wire from the sender. The problem is I can't see the connection due to the old shield. Does this wire connector just pull off if I give it a yank? Can I pull from the wire or do I need to pull at the connector?

Thanks for any help!

Rick

On my 73 the connector just pulls off and pushes on (no mechanical locking mechanism). I would not suggest pulling it by the 34 year old wiring though You should be able to grab t he connector with your fingers, and if you are careful you might be able to get it off of there without too many cuts from the shielding. On second thought, you might want to wear a glove.
