HydroBoost Leak?
On final check out before dropping the 71 hanger queen back to the ground, a leak has developed between the rear of the master cylinder and the front of the hydroboost. The leak is power steering fluid and is dripping from the cast in weep hole in the hydroboost casting.
These were assembled without a gasket between.
Is the leak due to the lack of a gasket or does this mean I have a leak inside the hydorboost itself?

Re: HydroBoost Leak? (Twin_Turbo)
Twin Turbo is right. There is a slot cut to allow leakage if the hydraboost leaks or the master cylinder. No gasket is required and the maiting surgaces has a groove cut in the underside.

Re: HydroBoost Leak? (norvalwilhelm)
Ok. I understand that no gasket is required between the master cylinder and the hydroboost.
We have now removed the HB and disassembled it. Is this unit supposed to have O rings inside between the cylinders and pistons? We find none.
Any ideas where the internal leak might be that would exit at the weep hole?
Anyone have an exploded parts diagram for this unit?

Re: HydroBoost Leak? (flynhi)
I have a blowup of a Hydroboost unit from a 1977 Chevrolet Repair Manual. I can't guarantee that the unit wasn't changed or updated through the years. I can send you a scan by eMail if you want.
