AFR L98 heads
I think my valve stem gaskets are shot, smoke on start-up. So, I'm in the market for heads. Will AFR L98 heads work with Hooker Sidepipes? Can anyone verify that the heads will work with my exhaust set-up?
I just visited the AFR site. It appears one could purchase 195 heads with either straight, angle or L98 design.
:) So all I need to do is deside what to buy, any recommendations?
:) What is a heat riser?
L98 head only seam to be available in 74cc versions.
I'm thinking about also changing to intake to an RPM Air-gap or AFR Street Pro Flow RPM
:) Do L98 heads only work with Tuned Port Injection?
:) What compression difference is realized between 68 and 74cc's.
BTW, I have a 350SB, 0.030 over.

L98 heads are alum.
Give this some thought. TPI was designed for torque for a 305. If you are changing heads, be certain that the runner volume and velocity match well with the TPI for best performance. Talk to AFR tech to make sure.......

Re: AFR L98 heads (flynhi)
The GM L98 head has 58cc chambers and about 170cc runners, the aFR's you're lookng at are much larger..so they're not ported L98 heads (AFR used to have those too). Which ones are you looking at? 195cc street head w/ angled plugs? If so, they're all available in 68 & 74 cc chambers.
