Default Moving to NC (Need Advice)

I'll be moving to NC within the next 3 months. I understand they have emissions checks. Will my '80 be exempt? I'd like to know before I get too radical with it. I'm having the L-48 rebuilt next month.

Depends on the county where you'll be living. What city? Only select counties do emissions testing, but all counties do a visual chack for the emissions equipment being present. In the emissions counties your '80 will be tested. Go to http://www.dmv.dot.state.nc.us to get more info.

What if I kept the car registered in FLorida? Would this make it exempt?
