Where can I find the heavy Clay backed (?) sound deading pads that go over the rear wheel wells under the rear carpet for a 1979.....

For noise, a product like Dynomat would work. I have used it in other cars a it is a really good product.

I am kind of interested in the original stuff. It seem pretty thick and am worried the carpet may not lay right with out it..
