Excellent, now all I have to do is find my VIN number, as the car is at home.

When I ordered mine a couple of years ago, I wasn't asked for my VIN. Worth a try.

If my memory serves me right, there was something different if you were trying to find the info for a Canadian car, different # or something. I too got my package, actually got it twice, and there was a lot of info in there but not as much as I hoped. Still nice to have to throw up on your workbench.

Try a search on the archives - posts might still be there.

You mean you don't have your VIN memorized??

That should be right up there with your SSN, wedding anniversary and kids' dates of birth. :jester :jester :jester

You have to call a canadian number and they want $40-$50 for the package.

Dwayne, before you get too steamed, please note that our American friends cannot get what we can get from GM Canada.

The "restoration package" referred to in this thread is nothing more than generic specs and info for make-model-year in question. It will contain no specific information about an American-delivered Corvette, on a VIN# basis, because all of that info was destroyed when production moved from St. Louis to Bowling Green.

I ordered the $45 package from GM Canada, and was very pleased that I did. Among other things, I got the production date for my car, shipping date, original trim and paint colours, the dealer it was shipped to, engine specs, and all the original options the car was delivered with.

Also included is the quantity of that model of Corvette imported into Canada. In my case, I found out that there were 203 convertibles in Canada in the 1974 model year, and 146 of them had the L48.

Here's a look at what GM Canada was able to fax me a couple of hours after I made the phone call:

http://temp.corvetteforum.net/c3/nip...ild_page.shtml

The cost of the service is Cdn. $45 + $5 for a same-day fax of the details. It was worth it to me to find out what my Vette's build sheet would have contained. In the package that came by mail later on, I also got the engineering specifications booklet for '74 Corvettes.

If you've got a Canadian-delivered Corvette and you're curious about what she looked like on Day 1, you might want to check it out:

The best way to remember your wife's birthday is to forget it once.

Ask me how know this.

:lolg: I can just imagine. You know whats worse though? Mixing up your wife's name and that of a former girlfriend in the heat of passion. Okay, so I don't know what that would be like, but I could just imagine.

There are 2 different issues going on here.
1) GM Restoration package. FREE. Comes with a bunch of generic crap about your year corvette. Replacement part vendor list and a crappy photocopy of your years sales catalog. Wasnt worth the postage IMHO.

2) If your car was originally exported to Canada, then you can request the info from GM Canada. Great info. Well worth the $45.
