76 brand "Cool Blue 100" gasoline - anybody tried it?
While in Wyoming on vacation last week (Yellowstone) we stopped at a Phillips 66 station to gas up. I noticed they were selling 5-gallon cans of something I hadn't seen before - 76 brand "Cool Blue 100" gasoline, labeled as "street legal racing gas", 100 octane unleaded. The cans have tables printed on the side, showing how you can mix various quantities of the Cool Blue 100 with various quantities of 91, 92, or 93 octane premium unleaded fuel to get any octane level you want between 91 and 100.
The stuff is not sold in Utah (where I live) as far as I know. I didn't think to ask how much it cost. Anybody here seen it? Used it? Might be just the ticket for some of you hi-comp early C3'ers... :seeya

Here in NorCal there are a number of 'race gas' vendors (TRICK racing fuel comes to mind) that sell high octane. Works great but a bit pricey. Sears Point Raceway has open pumps that sell up to 110 octane with prices that vary from about $3.00 to $6.00 per gallon. Just put it on the card, dude!

A Philips 76 station sells 100 octane at about $4 per gallon and the vette seems happy with it.

We have it here as well at a gas station-and it is blue as can be.
It is $3.35 gallon.
What was it that Duvall said in Apocalypse Now?
"I love the smell of burning race gas in the morning"
Something like that. I love the stuff and the car loves the stuff, but it is more expensive to fill up than my Suburban.
