Anyone used a Crimestopper alarm?
I just bought one from a dealer on eBay. It was loaded with features and the price seemed great. Hope it works OK (lifetime warranty, too).

The thieves say the best anti-theft deterrent is a brake-pedal lock.
Car alarms are good for alerting you at night if you must keep your car in the driveway. But don't count on it to protect you in a mall parking lot :nonod:

That's why Crimestopper alarms have built in kill switches.

I installed three of them (the third one was the best install... experience and all that!
For me, it worked pretty well, but I would not self-install again (but I am not sure who I would trust to install one?) since it was a really big pain in the butt and you are cutting ignition wire  that are not really big!
The cool thing is that I learned how to hot wire a car while doing it (doh!)

Crimestopper is on the low end of security systems, but when it comes down to it a majority of them do the same thing.
I went with a viper responder. It gives you a pager of sorts that alerts you within a pretty good radius if your alarm is going off etc. Viper also will pay for your deductible if your car is ever stolen while it is armed. Be warned though they are not cheap. Installed with voice module and motion sensor it was about 750 dollars. more if you want the other options , backup battery etc...
