Default For those thinking of updating to C5 seats.

I put the C5 seats in my 72 vertr. last spring - both my wife and I love them but they do sit about 1 - 1/5" higher than stock which led to some gymnastics getting in and out for me. Today I installed a tilt/tele column and rebuilt my steering coupler, what an amazing difference, old Farticus feels like a newby again combined with the Bilsteins that I put on in June. Also replaced the ps return line as it was up against the header, another easy fix. I have been taking this vert on three 200 mile cruises 3 times per week and then another few hundred miles on weekends with my wife.

Do the seat backs sit higher or the actual seating section too? I don't think I could sacrifice much headroom.

Got any pics? Where'd you get the seats?

Neat! I've been thinking of doing that too. Do you have any photos?

I put on that kind of mileage in a day :jester and love it. BTW, I still have the original seats, no tilt/tele and 30 year old shock! You must be getting old, ghd.

Good to see you and yours enjoying the car once again.

here's a link to my quicktime mov. of the seats. I have the back reclined so that headroom is not a concern. Yesterday I had the roof up and have plenty of headroom and I'm 6'1", the tilt is for ease of access and exit as well I can raise the wheel to a better driving position for me given that the seats sit higher. If you want any pics with measurements just email me & I'll take one and send it out. They are the most comfortable vette seats I have ever sat in, and are easier to get into than the C4 do to there design.
I bought the seats last fall from a forum member not too far from me. He was moving more towards autoX and wanted a set of MoMo seats for that. The seat covers are neoprene that he had bought for them as well. http://www.geocities.com/gdhurst/C5seats.mov

I tried to fit a nice set of C5 Sport Seats in my 71 Vert and could not make them work. I'm 6'1" and, even with the seats on the floor, my head was into the soft top fabric.
I installed a set of 96 Collector seats and they're very nice.
