Default High speed fan not working on AC

Anyone know the secret to getting the AC fan to run on high. It runs OK on the other speeds. Any suggestions ? [IMG][/IMG]

Not sure about 74's but earlier C3's had a seperate lead which was fused for the high speed fan position. This lead came off the horn relay and ran to the relay mounted on the outside of the heater box. The fuse was located close to the horn relay.

The fuse holder you need to look for is located under the left front fender near the brake master cylinder.

If the fuse is good, the switch may be burned out, a common GM problem.

Master Ho has a good point. I have replaced several switches in mine also. They get so hot because of the contact resistance they actually melt the solder in the switch.

Isn't there a high speed fan relay located I believe underneath the jack storage box? I have the same issue with mine and have been told to check out that relay. Haven't done that yet but worth a look.

Can't speak for 76's but for 69's, it was located on the heater box in the engine compartment. The console switch controlled the lower three settings and when switched to high, the relay engerized and connected 12v through the 30A fuse to the blower motor.

Found the fuse just where you said (under the front left fender, near the brake master cylinder), but the fuse was ok. THe relay mounted on the heater box had an open wire on the coil, I repaired it and now I do have High fan on AC. Thanks
