Default Washer Pump Tips

I replaced the washer pump on my 77 without removing the master cylinder or carbon cannister. Procedure: Pull off neck to washer bottle. Remove washer bottle from wheel well support. Turn bottle to disconnect the electrical and hose connections from the pump. Position the bottle between the master cylinder and fender so that opening is accessible. Using a deep 7/8 inch socket with a long extension, unscrew plastic bolt and screen from the inside bottom of the washer bottle. The old pump is now free for removal. Jet clean the washer bottle. Turn the washer bottle upside down so that the opening now faces downward between the cannister and firewall. With the washer bottle upside down, have an assistant hold the new pump into position. From underneath the car, reattach the screen and nut in the bottom of the upside down washer bottle. (By turning the bottle upside down, gravity holds the screen and nut in the socket.) Reconnect electrical connection and hose to pump. Reattach bottle to wheel well support.

That sounds simple enough, is it the same on a 78?
