L98 Identification and Engine Dress-Up Stuff
My Ferrari Daytona replica has what I believe is a 1988 L98 in it. I have found V06 13CVA and a number stamped on the passenger side of the engine block. What does this number identify and how do I know for sure what year it was from? A past appraisal on my car stated it was a 350 from a 1988 Pontiac T/A, but I want more info.
I'd also like help with aftermarket dress-up engine parts ... so who do you recommend? I'm most interested in chrome parts ... and what can be done with the TPI unit to dress it up? I'd like to do more than just repaint it ... got any ideas?
Thanks for the help! :cool:

I'm in a C3 mindset because of the chassis and registration, so I wasn't thinking right when I made this post. Just put it on the C4 board.
Thanx.

V0613CVA
V=Flint Engine plant
0613=June 13th, engine build date
CVA=are you sure this is not C U A ?? CUA would match what you were told. The CUA is for a 1988 L98 out of a Firebird. Was a 225hp with automatic trans engine.

Thanks for the insight, Tom. It is a CUA, not a 'V'. Will Chevy stuff fit that engine, or is there anything 'special' (read as 'different') about that engine in a Pontiac?

They are the same engine. Both are the "classic" chevy small block. About the only difference is the HP ratings and that is due to the more restrictive exhaust on the Firebird. :D
