Pressure plate bolts?
I found these Presssure Plate bolt specs: Chevrolet: 3/8 in.-16 thread, 9/16 in. head. Is it OK to use grade 8, which I can purchase locally or do I have to place yet another special order for the ARP's?
How long are these bolts?
Thanks
Len

Re: Pressure plate bolts? (1970 Stingray)
The Chevrolet manual lists it as a 3/8-16 X 1 and the Chevy part # is 838653 and was $0.30 in 1983. I don't know what grade the orginals were. While grade 8 bolts are great, they are not always the best replacement because they can't take the stretch a grade five can without breaking. I would call my local dealer and get orginal bolts or use the ARP bolts. The location of these bolts is not someplace you want to visit very often.

yeah...its never fun to have a 20 lb pressure plate come loose and fly up through your floorpan. Happend to a friend of mine, he misses his shins.
