1'st Baldwin Motion 427 Phase III?? Help?
I am trying to locate any "color pic" from the 1969 International auto show of the first Baldwin Motion Vette as pictured on the covers of Aug & Oct , 1969 issues of Cars Magazine. Any info that you may have in reference to this car would be appreciated. I have what looks like it down to the last detail that I can see in the pictures in the articles. What I don't know is the correct color and what trans it has. I talked to Joel Rosen many years ago when I first bought it and he seemed to think it was the same car. This was back in '74 and the car has been in storage ever since. It had been painted black with a gold stripe on it and the intake on the hood filled in to keep the dam thing from drowning out.
I also am looking for a "H. Roger Lawler 1120 Empire Central PL. Dallas Tx." He was the original purchacer of my '70 Motion 454 Phase III Vette.
If anybody knows this guy please let me know.

I have nothing for you but I wanted to say:
1. Welcome
2. Great car you have. GREAT.
3. Do a search on '67HEAVEN' and ask the guys in C1&C2 - this is your best bet.

Go to http://www.yenko.net and ask around there. It's home of the SuperCar registry, and even has as it's feature car a '69 BM Phase III Corvette. You can still have Joel certify the car today, and he should be able to tell you the options the car had (stick/auto, etc.) as well as the color. Cost is like $1500 though.

Re:How about one of each?
I have one of each. It is hard to pic one over the other. I have to admidt that they are both something special. I found the Datsun look grew on me the first time I hit third gear and went sideways all the way through that gear. This car just has to have a set of racing slicks to get it to hook up to the ground.

Sorry I do not see a place to post a pic. This is the worst forum that I have tried to post to. It takes forever to change screens. it has taken about 45 min before I could answer you. I am active on the Delphi forums and they are fast compaired to these. I can't even get it to give me a contact screen to the webmaster.
I wasted an hour typing out my bio and then it tells me that I am limited to 1000 spaces afterward. Then when I hit the back button it would not go back and just locked up as usual and when I finally got back to it then it was gone. I am pissed to say the least.
I have a DSL conection and it is not that slow. They just have too many links to the advitisers on the left collum that make it slow to load. It locks me up almost every time.
Thanks to all for the kind words. I will go put all my info on the (20) cars that I have on a webpage that I control then I will not loose everything with out warning. Please: someone tell them to place the limit on the bio start page so a newbe will know.

The forum is not slow here and I live in The Netherlands so it must be your connection. As for the sidebar, it's 1 picture that has to load and it ain't even that large. When loaded once your browser will pick it from the cache to load so the page displays much faster... you need to check your settings.

Greetings,
The “first” Baldwin Motion Phase III Corvette was a bright yellow ‘68 Coupe that was wearing deep dish Cragar mags, a Pontiac hood-mounted tach (off of a GTO), and ‘65 - ‘67 factory Corvette side pipes. Here are 2 photos...
And...
The car shown at the ‘69 New York Auto Show that graced the August 1969 issue of CARS Magazine was the very first Phase III GT. The first version, Rosen’s demo car, did not have the tunneled in, exposed headlights. It seems that fans either loved the treatment or hated it.
I just launched a new Baldwin-Motion tribute site that you might find interesting. I got LOTS of CARS Magazine road tests, catalog sheets, and MUCH more to come. Stop by at http://www.BaldwinMotionReport.com .
Hope that helps. - Scott

Sadly, I'm not. I cannot comment any further as I do not have all the relevant facts. There were many accusations flying around given the value of all the cars involved.
