Gotta Leak
I do not have a lift, but it seems to be coming in the area of the oil filter. I was able to reach the filter with my hand and it seemed tight.
So, what might it be?

Re: Gotta Leak (OHSIXX)
My guess is it's leaking above (valve cover) and running down the block to the filter. Check the left valve cover at the rear side.

Re: Gotta Leak (OHSIXX)
Well, it could be a number of things.
1. The rear seal on your oil pan is not tight.
2 The intake manifold above is leaking because oil pressure is to high.
3. Your main seal is leaking.
It could be one of those most likely. otherwise you have to search the entire under belly of your car to find a little tiny leak. It can be quite a task at times.

Re: Gotta Leak (dudeskie)
Thanks to both of you. I just changed the valve covers a couple of days ago. Maybe that is it; I hope! :)

Re: Gotta Leak (OHSIXX)
So, I tighten it up some. Took it out and got it up to temp. Still leaks, but not as bad. I could tighten some more, but don't want to break it. So, what to do?
BTW, I used rubber gaskets with chrome covers. The gaskets were nice and thick.

Re: Gotta Leak (OHSIXX)
:D Heard a really good idea the other day but haven’t tried it myself so take this for what it’s worth. Just go to the kitchen and smuggle out a few cups of flour. Just spread it around where ya think the problem is but keep it out’a the aircleaner/carb. Looking for/findig the leaking source should be easy. Wash it all off when done.
Now this isn’t my idea but I’ll take the credit and generous donations are difinatly accepted. :seeya

The other thing that is right in that area is the oil pressure sensor or on BB's the fittings for feeding to the gauge. They like to leak.

Re: Gotta Leak (bigvette1)
Did you put silicone or gasket-goo on the gaskets? or are you not supposed to do that with rubber? With cork I use silicone one side(cover) and general-use grease on the other(head), seals perfectly and can be reused several times due to the grease side.
