What would these tires be worth
A set of 4 Goodyear Eagle GT's. These have 20,000 miles on them and are the original tires that came with the vette in 1978. Any ideas?

As collector items for show only. The rubber has got to be hard as a rock. Sure would think twice about driving on them.

No, I wouldn't even give them away. Go over 70 mph on a set of those, and your life is at risk.

Didn't 78's have Goodyear GT radials or Polysteel Radials ? I thought the Eagle GT was a product of the early 80's.

When I picked up my 74 the ralley rims still had the original Firestone 500's on them :eek: . You could see the steel belts :lol:

Actaully these usually go for at least 350.00+ without rims on ebay. If these are the orginal white outlined GT Radials, they are quite desireable as they have been out of production for years and no replicas are offered. The original '78 Pace came with these, and you do lose some points in judging for not having them. There are "accepatble" tires (like the GT II which I have), but your car is orginal if it has the outline GTs. If I ever find some at the right price, I might pursue them. I'll give you a $100.00 bucks for all (4). :reddevil

A friend of mine sold a set from an 82 about 6 months ago. 20,000 miles, no cracking, never curbed. He got $100 at an NCRS show.

Old rubber = danger. I suppose ok for a "trailer queen" that is barely going to move from the trailer to the judging area....but that's it.
If it were me, I'd send them to "tire heaven" rather than wonder if the person that bought them might actually be stupid enough to drive with them.
