Well, I made up my mind. I will be joining the C-3 LS-1/6 speed club.
Looks like I found a deal I can not pass up on a 01 LS1 6 speed. I love the TPI system, it just is not what I truly want. I have battle this decision all week and I think I'm ready for a change.
Look for my up coming liquidation sale on C-3 parts or if you want to email me for parts, feel free.

Thanks guys. The LS 1 is out of a 2001 Camaro. Currently it has a 4L60 bolted up to it and the 6 speed is on a shelf. The wiring harness is pretty butched up, so I will probably have to buy a new one, plus a 6 speed ECM. A also need a bellhouse and clutch assembly.
Sorry no free parts this time. I need the funding for the swap. :D

Budman, long as you have some semblance of a factory harness covering the engine side of things, I"d really be careful in taking/cutting that harness apart saving long a leads as possible for each component, and then make up/solder your own harness together....I would say to use a batch fire 7730 computer with an aftermarket chip....or burn your own....this way much of the later computer interface crap with the car it came out of becomes a moot point, thing being you are in for some programming anyway, so why not let someone like Ernie at Breathless do the job for couple hundred bux, and get you over the top with it....point being, you are running without doing all the crap trying to get OEM LS1 computer to agree to operate correctly....
and too boot ONE O2 sensor on a header is good enough, so is batch fire, you will never see any fuel economy/power for fighting that new thing....
Somehow I"m sure this will bring on a firestorm, but I think simplicity/price rules over lots of that 'new tech' that in reality buys you nothing but headaches....

Fevre, :D :D , yeh, I am kind of a maverick, in that I do the stuff the simple way, on the cheap mostly....being as I do most all my own work....
and I do enjoy raiding junkyards.... :smash: :smash:
I do admit a more modern computer may offer some advantages, but learning the hookups and programming, and the necessary changes to teach the thing to do what's needed in a C3 and nothing more....well, I can see someonw taking more time to do that, than installing the damn thing in the first place...when for ~200 bux you can get a chip done that will get it running on the road, without codes tossed and in backup mode or some such default setting...and then sweat the details later...
Even being an old ET, with some design experiences, I still believe for a consumer product such as a car, the simpler the better....I feel most manufacturers are going way overboard with bells/whistles for NO good end far as the consumer is concerned....meanwhile long term reliability and even just mechanical reliability is sacrificed.....witness the continued failures of something as common of the auto trannies, and even the alternators....

Gene, slow down. Deep breath. Haven't decided the route to go with yet. Still got to close the deal before getting to far.
