Need some ps pressure hose advice.
This will be the 2nd power steering pressure hose that I have replaced in 2 years. It rubs on the oil pan when I crank the steering and eventually wears through. Are there any slip on stainless hose kits that would work on these, like the ones in the dressup kits for the rad hoses etc.? The ps, heater were installed in 1985 when the car was painted by the last owner, being a ZR-1 is came with none of the above. The system works great other than the need for hose replacement every few years.

I used a campbells chicken noodle soup can to protect my upper radiator hose. A p/s hose presents a different challenge..... perhaps Del Montes Tomato paste would work??? MJ

now that is funny. so if I see what you're saying - the Del Monte would be better than the Heinz can, sort of a Holley vs Edelbrock type of thing.

Try a plastic or teflon wire loom wrap used on electrical wires or even some self fusing tape to take the abrasion. I would be afraid of a metal hose or wrap wearing a hole in the oil pan  Just remember to check and replace the protective wrap.

I have the original pan, I am having a freind pick up a few hoses in Carlise on Fri. and will put it up on a hoist to see why it rubs.

I just changed the hoses on my car and the new hoses I got from Zip were shaped different than the original they seem to fit nicer.

fixed it this morning, actually was my ps return line that was touching a header, easy fix, I guess that when I got the headers put on last summer this line wasn't adjusted. I like quick inexpensive fixes. Tomorrow I install my new tilt/tele column.
