Door Panels
The door panels on my '69 are in pretty good shape and will probably do nicely with a little vinyl dye. The problem is the "hangers", "clips", whatever they are called, are junk! Has anyone found a better way to attach your door panels.

Define "hangers", "clips". Bubba uses big ole metal screws. :lol:
The velcro type plastic clips are available from the big suppliers, as are the metal cornor clips.
If you have a case where the plastic on the door panel that the cornor clips slid onto is broken , you can take a 1/4" wide piece of metal about 6" long and force it in between the panel and stuffing(?) then center it across the hole to give the clips something to hold on to.

Whatever attached the door panel to the door frame (via flimsy little clip) is broken, so that is exactly the kind of tip I'm looking for :thumbs: Thanks.
I was about to use my own "Bubba" skills and break out the super glue and bailing wire :D

I believe the orig had a paper composite (cardboard::) backing and warped with age. My new ones are plastic backed but I am still having trouble with the passenger side pulling away from the hi-tech velcro. :rolleyes: On the orig I put a screw through them into the door to pull them back into place. It did not look to out of place with all the other screws showing through out the interior.

Epoxy is more effective at filling gaps than super glue. :smash:

If I can't make 72GACRZR's tip work, I'm going after it with the drill and screws. I hate to admit it, but I basically did the same thing with the panels in my '71 Blazer. Guess the thought of puttin' holes in my vette was too horrifying :lol:
