Default Summit has some good stuff on sale this month.

Two things I have bought in the past and have been very happy with are:

high torq starter reg $146 on sale for $117

100 amp alt reg $99 on sale for $71

This alt pic looks better than what I got so it may not be the actual alt, mine is still nice though.

Chrome version reg about $120 on sale for $94

There is a 2 page section in their most recent catalog I got this week with a bunch of stuff on sale.

Just thought I would pass the info along.

 I have been wanting to get a new alt. My 60 amp alt can barely push my fans and my headlights at the same time. When my fans come on at night my headlights dim to about half of what should be and dont get brighter again until the fans turn off. And I dont even have a radio installed yet.

Running dual elec's myself and no dimming when the lights are on and the stereo is kicking. No amp yet cuz I am getting buzz from my MSD unit, need to rewire a few things and hope that cures it.

Fevre (or anybody else),

It seems I have a four-wire alternator? (see pic) The two on the back are pos. and neg. but what are the two that go into the plug on top of the alt? This post got me looking at alts and now I need to find one that works. The chrome alt from summit you posted about is a single wire, can I convert mine to a single wire?

(It's an old pic but I still have the same alt)

The hi-torq starter appears that maybe they are outsourcing them from CVR and putting their own stickers & SRE engraving on the mount.

And Jegs has some decent bargains on open face Simpson racing helmets on-line if anyone is needing one.

Think you are right about the starter, I would imagine Summit does that on all their Summit name brand parts. If it is the same quality, got a warranty and costs less I am all for it.
