How do I build a harness to start my engine..
In a few weeks I will be in ready to test my engine, since the body is still off obviously I don’t have any harnesses installed. Can someone tell me the bare minimum I need electrically speaking to start my car. Does someone have a diagram of a cable like this? Thanks.
I should add that its not really “testing” my engine since the engine actually has about 1000 miles on in before I took my car apart. I just haven’t heard my motor in such a long time I thought it would be a huge motivation for me. :D

Thats what I thought. I just didnt want to melt anything down.
Do I send 12v to + side of dist.
GND batt. to frame
Obviously the + side of batt. goes to starter. I would think I would need to install a momontary switch somewhere right? Thanks

Wish I could tell you exactly what needs to be done but since I have not done it yet myself I hate to give incorrect info. I would like to build a test stand for engines so :lurk: .

Battery hookup to the starter and grounded to the transmission mounting bolt so all my cables would fit.
I ran 12v to the distributor with a quick disconnet in line and used a remote starter to turn it over.
Ran it all the time...Just made sure I was not in gear :yesnod:
Just pulled the plug to stop it.
PS..I like the wheel dollies
