Waaaaay off topic......but i need help
Does anyone know where i can find a cake tin in the shape of a corvette????
I have called everyone in Memphis, with the exception of Kmart and Wally world...and NOBODY sells one...
I wanted to make a b-day cake in the shape of one for my hubbys b-day!
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks in advance!
Jackie

You will have to call a cake shop and have them make one custom. You will prolly need to bring them a couple photos and order it way in advance. Also, It will most likely cost way more than its really worth.

Think so?
I have called just about every baker in town, and no one has offered to make a tin....
I guess I need to ask, and how much it would be...
Thanks

Might get an outline of a vette and do the 'body work' yourself then frost over the evidence.

it dosnt have to be HIS vette...just a nice pic of a vette... :yesnod:
plus...i used to be a baker back in the old days and ill tell you how it is sometimes done, you bake the cake and then cut the shape and then frost the cake accordingly...
just like stated above... :D

i think a C4 would be easier than a C3! Just take a sheet cake and put some wheels on it! MJ (And if you are talking about a C3 this is not off topic at all)

I know I have seen decorators make cars out of sculped cake before. Basically you make a two layer sheet cake and then before you ice the cake you sculp the shape of a car out of the sheet cake and then ice and decorate as you like. It's a good way to get the exact shape you want. You could draw a side view of a car on a piece of paper and use it for a side of the cake stencil, and then make a top view stencil for rough cuts, then take a small knife for finer cuts. That way you get the exact side and shape cake that YOU want. Good Luck!

Re: Waaaaay off topic......but i need help (dreamingbaby)
i watched my ex mother in law do cakes before.... she did a car cake and what she did was use a sheet cake, trimmed it to the shape, used the leftover pieces (that i didnt manage to scarf down) to make the roof area and pretty much used the frosting as body filler to make it all tie together... one thing i noticed that made things smooth out was to dip the frosting blade in warm water to smooth it out...
