68 hardtop damaged in the move...
How much do yall think it'll cost to get repaired and painted?
there's one chip, the obvious bad scrape, and some scuff marks, so i'm sure it'll take a total repaint. :( Plus the paint is at least 10 years old, so surely faded. It was immaculate, accept for needing new seals, when it went on the moving van.
The good news is that almost nothing else was damaged. And i honestly thought the moving guy was going to cry about the top....a concrete lion fell apart when he picked it up and a piece hit the top. :cry

:cry :cry I guess they are gonna pay for the Repaint right?? I would take it to the best shop available and get an estimate. Make sure you bring the car so they can match the paint exactly. I would not think it would be too expensive though

:iagree: Liz I think they, the movers, should be liable. I would have probably had to say something. My guess is these guys are eager to leave asap and in a hurry and this just happened to be the mistake. They should have some kind of insurance to cover their damage.

i purchased insurance on the move, so they are liable. i have sent pics to a local shop here for an estimate and the moving company will pay me. just wondering how much it'll be!

I paid $275 to have my Eckler's L88 hood prepped and painted. The guy did a meticulous job matching the paint, too, since my paint is ~5yrs old. So, you may, or may not, have to have the entire thing resprayed. Plus, my hood needed more prep work than your top will. I can't imagine a price more than what I paid to have my bare hood done, and that's if they have to do the entire top.
