Finally found rough/high idle problem!!!!
Just when I was about ready to pour gas on it and torch the thing, I stumbled onto the problem. I had an aftermarket performance chip in it and switched back to the original. BINGO! It starts better, idles properly and doesn't shake anymore. Now it is a pooch again, but it runs smoother.

Forget the aftermarket chips and get one burned specifically for your set up, you will much happier in the long run. I would check out the C-4 forum for more info and you might find a place/person near you to do it.

No matter what you do to a 82-84 Corvette the intake manifold will restrict power.

There was a 2nd GM chip part # that supposedly improved drivablility and idle characteristics for the CFI engine. Finding one at a dealer might be a real chore I hear.
I guess I havent seen a reason for it as my CFI runs pretty smooth at any engine speed.
