Lubricate Muncie input shaft?
Does the input shaft get lubed before insertion into the pilot bearing?

Re: Lubricate Muncie input shaft? (1970 Stingray)
what do you have bearing or bushing, and if bushing what kind, sintered bronze or the cheap iron/bronze (bronze w/ iron fillings). The bearing and the iron/bronze bushing need some grease as they willw ear out the input shaft when they run out of grease. the sintered bronze (oilite) one is self lubricating after you soak it in oil. The others could use some moly grease

I'm using Lakewood's which I think is bronze since it's a brownish-yellow color. I did soak in oil a few hours before I rammed it home. I also put grease in the back of the shaft pit.
