head light pops up
Latley I,ve had my headlight pop up on the pass. side after I shut down the motor. It dosn't happen all the time but it did again today. I drove to work and shut off the lights. They go down like normal and stay down . Once I shut the engine off that one side pops up. What can it be? A vac leak in the lamp actuator?

:withstupid: yup. easy enough to check. the check valve for the vacuum system is that diecast looking job on the hose coming off the manifold between the carb and the distributor. it will have one tube on one side and two on the other. remove it and blow through in each direction. the way it should work is it should stop air one way and not the other. i'm betting it's not stopping air any way.

A new check valve solved my headlight problem. I would just get a new one. Dont bother testing the old one. Your old one might test good but does not always work.
