How did you clean yor engine bay?
What did you use to detail your engine compartment? Did you replace skirts or anything else (kits available)? Getiing ready to pull the 350 and would like a clean "bed" to put her back in. Thanks.

Power wash, scrub, poser wash again, Simple green, power wash last time.
Paint sides Krylon, Satin paint.
Paint frame Krylon, Gloss paint.
Use thinner to clean the wires.
Replace low dollar parts like washer and overflow bottles. dust flaps, hood insulation.
Done. Good luck.

When I installed my ZZ4 before I put it in I had a friend come over with his flatbed trailer and we took it to the local U-SPRAY-OFF carwash and I used their wand and engine degreaser. Before I did this anything you touched in the engine compartmament would get you dirty, now it is clean as a wistle.

I did it in the garage after ripping everything out by buying some 3m Cleaner/Degreaser and just wiping everything down REAL good. Took a while but came out great. I then taped, prepped and spray painted all the different parts. Details on website.

Joe has been the de-facto engine compartment guy for years around here. He really did one awesome job.
The one tip I can give is skip the simple green and use Purple Power. That is much more effective and it even breaks down undercoating.
