Default Power to manual steering

I am converting my 74 from power to manual steering. I am looking for advice on how to make the switch. I figure I'll have to get a manual steering box, but I'm not sure if I'll need to change anything else such as other steering linkage components. I also need a new parking brake handle and associated hardware for the same car.

Thanks

Steering box is the same for power and manual. You'll need a new pitman arm and relay rod with ball stud. Otherwise you should be good to go.

:iagree:

The tie rod ends have to be move to the outer holes in the steering arms. The inner ones are for power.

I just got through doing this last winter. All I had to find was the relay rod. My pitman arm fit fine.
Good luck.

I went with Steeroids system and a used serpintine belt set up. The conversion cost about $700 to $800 for the stock system and was about $1,200 for the way I went. I have not put mine on yet but hear it is WAY better than the stock system although a bit more costly.
