Default The never ending carb questions

To keep the questions going on until .............forever

When I come to a stop and have to hit he brakes firmly my car wants to stall. If I slow down nicely it's fine.
Any suggestions? Float height?
I rebuilt the carb, the engines timed and tuned, new vacume check valve, stock L48.

if it is a holley with center hung float bowls install part # 26-40 and if you have side hung float bowls install part# 26-39 to prevent fuel from running up the rear bowl vent tube. if you have a Q jet check the float level and do not use a brass float:chevy

Thanks gents, I kinda figured that's what it might be. It's a quadrajet and I'm gonna have Lars fix me up this winter, cause I had one he!! of a time getting that thing to keep from flooding.
Hot and humid here last night, drove in the shark with the "T"s off. I love my car

if you hooked the little wire hook on the needle thru the hole in the float arm that could be you flooding problem. also older Q jets need a very fine screen wire soldered over the input side of the needle seat because of the plating coming off of the inside of the filter housing causing the needle not to seat and flood. :chevy
