Vaccum system troubleshooting and replacement?
Is it possible to hook up all of the vac lines for the lights and wiper doors and trouble shoot any problems without having the motor and trannie installed as long as you have power? If so how and what tools would I need.
Got the house up for sale and will be living with parents while our new house is being built. Need a project to start on after the interior is finished and was thinking about tackling this job.

If you have an elec vac pump you should be able to use that, I would think a hand vac pump would be a little tougher to use.

Wade, as long as you have a source of power and vacuum, you should be able to troubleshoot most everything. The only component that needs power is the wiper door solenoid that will rais ehte wiper door when you turn on the wiper switch. Everything else in mechanical and will work as long as there is a vacuum source.
Harbor Freight tools sells an inexpensive little vacuum pump. You could connect to the vacuum line that runs from the intake to this pump and get 99% of the stuff debugged this way.

Yep, it's a small 110 volt unit. I think it's about $12 to $15 at most. It should provide enough vacuum for you to test everything.
