1979 L-82 experts please check in !!!!!!!!!
O-k men,
I'm going to look at a '79 L-82 4 speed gymkhana vette for a friend.
It has 39k original miles and has been judged both at Bloomington,
NCRS, {Top Flight twice} etc...etc...etc.... The car is basically a flawless
example. The undercarriage is incredible, along with the interior.
What price range are these cars selling in ???? God, I remember when they
were new :cry :cry :cry
All opinions are gratefully welcomed....
Thanks,
Mark B. :seeya

What's the asking price? Asking us to name a price range is like shooting darts blindfolded. And prices really vary wildly be region.
But we can tell you to run from a too-high price, or suggest you to grab it fast if it's cheap...

page62,
Thanks for the quick reply.
The asking price is $20.000.00.
Does this help ???
I think it even has a Dave McLellan award on the back window.
Thanks again,
Mark B.

It's at the high end of the spectrum. But not high enough to run from the room screaming.
After all, asking prices are always negotiable (if the seller has any brains at all).

i think that is what the car is worth, but I think that 16-18K is a more reasonable selling price for the car
if you want a 79 l-82 gymhkana 3spd with 40K miles, i have one here in winnipeg for sale for $12K USD..........with great paint and interior, maybe not a top flight winner, but it is in great shape
i had to plug my car, sorry.......

I think $15k is more reasonable. There are a lot of nice cars out there for $20k. I paid $12k for mine with 39k miles. It's not a top flight winner and not an L82, but it is a very clean car, with a few mods to make it a better driver than a stock L48. It also came with all of the original parts, including tires.

I bought my 79 2 years ago and paid $16,000, with 14,300 miles on it. Completely original. I got the Bloomington Gold Survivor award the next year. It was in this mays Vette mag. That price is not that high for that car if it is the way it is described. As you know a lot of folks dont care for the 79 but thats okay, everyone to their own feelings. In my opinion, if you like the car go for it....LT

To me the price sounds really reasonable. Last March on blue/blue 79 L82 4 speed with 19K original miles was sold for $33K.

33K for a 79.. dayum. I could think of a whole lot of other desirable years to buy for 33K. Nothing against 79ers but it's just my opinion.
Now, if it was something like Monty has in a 79.. yeah 33K would sell it :)

This is interesting because when I posted a topic about ripping my 78SA L82 with 32k original miles apart everybody was like go ahead, it's just a 78! :D
This post is making me feel much better about mine. I may go out in the garage, wash and wax it, and tell it I'm so so sorry, I didn't mean it!
