Is my 1972 convertible the last bumper car convertible built?
I own a 1972 convertible, serial # 27003. The last 72 built was serial number 27004. I THINK I may have the last convertible in 72, which makes it the last convertible corvette with chrome bumpers front and rear. I have talked to NCRS, asked at Bpwling Green and Nashville during the 50th celebration. Many think I do, but I have no proof. I probably need to find someone who was at St Louis during the last run of 72's.
Any help anyone out there can be to find out if it is or isn't will be much appreciated. The car is ll original and came with a vinyl hardtop (811 in 72)

You have a 50/50 chance. I would bet that it is the last chrome bumper 72. It does make a good story. BTW, welcome to the forum. You will enjoy your time spent here.

That would be very cool to find that out. My 72 vert came with a hardtop as well but I never picked it up from the guy I bought my vette from, he wanted an xtr $1000, the way I am is that if I have to put the roof up, I don't even want to drive it - it just seems like an old noisy car with the top up to me and have no interest in driving it.
