Aussie Forum get together?
Now we Aussies seem to have a Quorum of Forum members how about we have a get together?
I know we are spread out across this wide brown land but there might be the chance of us all having a get together on the same day in each capital city.
Let me know if you want to!

Sounds like fun to me.....maybe we could get a group buy of CF t-shirts organised to distribute at the get together.
Any other thoughts,
Joe

Re: Aussie Forum get together? (jyounane)
I have just put posts in the C1/2, C4 and C5 general discussions to see who is lurking. They all point to this thread.
Lets see who responds!
I know of several other Aussies- Aussiejohn, ChrisO', Brutus in C3.
Lets wait and see the response.

Organise a trip up to sunny Queensland. I'll get the BBQ warmed up, and fill the fridge with whatever ale's ya.
Perfect Vette weather up here, all year round.

Ok!Ok! let's start small.
There has to be more than 3 or 4 Forum members in each state. Let's see who signs on and where they are before defrosting the snags.
I was suggesting starting with regional meets for drinks etc before organising the "National Corvette Forum Cruise in Downunder Ver 1.0" (Catchy title if I do say so myself).

Re: Aussie Forum get together? (aussiejohn)
Whether Jdunne is a gentleman or not is irrelevant!
He is still a member of the Forum and as such is entitled to the priveleges and ribbing the forum provides.
Ok, headcount is now at
4 Victorians
jyounane
Aussiejohn
Jdunne
RHD '68 L89
3 QLDers
59er
chris O'
BillDixon
Brutus in NSW with all his friends
and Standup in Auckland awaiting the next round of discount airfares so he can emigrate to the lucky country.
I thought there would be more lurkers but we will make up for it with drinking more than our fair share.
Maybe standup can do something similar in NZ for his compatriates. I believe I have seen several Kiwi posts.
As I initially suggested, lets have one or more regional get togethers. Us Victorians are all from Melbourne so that is pretty easy.
How spread out are the QLDers?
Brutus, Do you regularly travel interstate for work or pleasure?
Any suggestions from the angry Mob?

Re: Aussie Forum get together? (Jarmo)
Jarmo,
with that many posts you have been here a long time!
Nice to meet you.
Where in the NT?
if you are in Darwin do you know George W? He has a Black '88 with personal plates.
Where is your Vette and why isn't with you?
Do you know of any other Aussies lurking from long time ago?
Questions Questions!
Regards,
James

James...I don't get interstate at all really. Never even been to Vic yet! I've seen more of the US than I have of our own country.
Btw, I think Jarmo is from WA and has a very nice (75?) Can Am bodied Vette.

I have seen way more of the US than Oz. At least I have made some road trips when I was younger.
:auto:
Up the east coast to Rocky, across the Simpson desert to Birdsville, Ayres Rock, all around Vic and a fair bit of SA. It's just the US has Bowling Green so I keep going back there. I am even a member of Corvettes Limited, Bowling Green.
I used to see a wide body mid '70s Vette in Melbourne. could that be Jarmo's?
Your problem regarding no other NSW forum members has a simple solution.
Invite your friends around for a barby and do an "Amway" on them. Get them to sign on to the Forum!
