Just curious if anyone can translate every number in a VIN.I own a 78 silv.ann. and assume it was built in canada (not sure). Can someone disect this VIN for me 1Z87L88400425. Much appreciated. :steering:

Looks like it is the 425th 78 made and it is a L82. In your number the second 8 should be an S and it was made in St Louis. Canada cannot lay claim to any corvette production.

Gotta disagree in part. Corvette Black Book lists 5th digit L as being an L-48. Fifth digit 4 is the L-82..........

I picked up an "information package" from GM Canada Vintage. It has a great deal of information pertaining to my specific car. It cost me about CND$50.00. Have your VIN and Credit Card handy!
