Default 16" or 17" Rallye Wheels, anybody using them?

Maybe this has been covered before, but is anybody running 16 or 17 inch Rallye wheels? I really like this traditional look, but want to fill the wheelwell.

Any pics would be great and the size of the tires you are using.

Thanks

your options in terms of performance rubber become almost limitless at 17". this alone is worth the swap. but apparently 17" rallies weigh a LOT! not a good thing when you are trying to improve handling...

The 17" steel ralley is 36 lbs, plus ~30 lbs for a 17" tire = 66 lbs per wheel.

I used to have a set of 17" steel ralleys but swapped to american racing CL205's (look like the old Thrust D). The CL205 is 21 lbs so that a total of 60 lbs less.

There are also billet aluminum ralleys, but I don't know the weight.

I'd love to find some Series 67 17" Wheel Vintiques Rallye, but apparently they have stopped selling them. The Series 68 Wheels are completely chromed and have sky-rocketed in price in the last couple of years.
I called Summit, but the rep I talked to couldn't find a price for anything but the 15" Rallye wheels that are in their catalog.
The local Discount Tire dealer claimed the only ones he had access to were the Series 90 Billet Aluminum wheels and they were about $300.00 each. Does this seem a little high or have I been out of the wheel market for too long?

$300 for the billet 17" sounds about right. I think MSRP is about $330.

I paid $168 for the all chrome steel 17" ralley from smmit a few years ago. I can probably dig up the receipt and give you the summit part number if you need it. I'd call summit back, though. You must have talked to a newbie.

Thanks Markus, I'll try Summit again and see if I can find a rep that knows something.

The after market large rallyes that are chromed do not look right to me since there is no seperation between the rim and ring/center cap which gives the rim more depth IMHO.

I thought the same thing so I painted the center silver. Looked good, IMO. Only downer was the weight.
