Re: Removing Rear Spindles (Ice_Fire)
I just went through this on my 75... you will need a axle slide hammer to remove them and special tools for shimming the bearings and pressing them back on, I took my car to a shop....much easier :smash: but if you want to attempt this do a search.

You will need a spindle press and dial indicator at a minumun. A bearing setup tool is helpful as well Most of the major catalogs have the press and setup tool in the suspension or special tools section.

You'll have to excuse the crudeness of the slidehammer in the photo. I built it in a hurry because I wanted a 40 lbs. slidehammer to remove the spindles with, and I wanted it now. :yesnod: So I built that slidehammer out of scrap iron, never did get to grinding down the rough edges or painting, used it, then it just kind of made it to the corner of the shop and I never did get it done. One of these days I will smooth out the rough edges and clean it up, maybe give it a coat of paint, but you get the idea for now.
