Modern Convertible Top Material
I want to replace the top on my 'vert, but I want to go with one of the more modern looking cloth like materials. The original top material just looks to "plastic" and shiney for me. Does anyone know of a source for tops made of the more modern looking stuff?

They showed exactly what you are looking for on TV this weekend. I think it was the same as the C5 material. It was the L88-maybe on "Dream Car Garage"? Someone else will chime in, but here is a TTT for ya.

Check with an auto upholstery/top shop. I'm interested in the same thing, in the future. The 3 shops I spoke with all can do it, and offer color choices other than just black or white.
Price ranges from $400-$900. (Has to be custom made and fitted) One shop had just fiished a '70. VERY NICE!!!
Nothing found ready made using this material.
I agree the vendors tops look a tad on the cheesy side.

I bought a new top for my 95 about a year ago from AA Best Co. They have excellent quality and prices. You can get the 68-75 top in vinyl or the stafast cloth (same as the newer models). A stayfast top for your Vette would be about $250. I highly recommend them. Their website link is posted below.
