Default High gas prices rant

Prices here in Wisconsin are $1.69 gallon. My daily drivers along with boat use up a lots of gas. Plus I just got the LP filled at $1.13 gallon.

Suburban 42 gallon tank
Minivan 20 gallon tank
Corvette 20 gallon tank
Ski boat 30 gallon tank
LP tank 500 gallons

I would hate to add up costs for the month as it would be depressing. Also I try not to run two dry at the same time. Sucks when you fill up the Burb and the attendant says WOW you set a new record. This has happened several times.

On the good side I hope this means George Bush's Oil Executive cronies are making obscene amounts of money now!

So they can stimulate the economy by buying a few extra houses or cars or yachts. Or hire more servants.

Do the Math

when gas was 25 cents a gallon a new car was $3000... comparable car today..$30,000
A house in major cites was under 20K... Today Maybe under 200K. Everthing except wages seem to be 10 X more. so I think gas is cheaper than ever by comparison plus... The average car gets twice the milage. C5's get above 25mpg on the road. My 69 gets 14...maybe. Gas is cheap cheap cheap. Enjoy your corvette and don't worry about the gas. :nopity

That's alot of gas that you need for all of those vehicles. There must be a reason you need a 42 gallon Suburban. If you have the money to drive that, you have the money to pay for the gas. Honestly, the gas prices are pretty low right now. My wife is from England, and I don't get away with complaining about gas prices at all. Over there, gas is $3.00/gallon any day of the year. If it's too expensive, drive a more reasonable car.

I am gonna have to agree with him. Gas in our town went up about a dime this week. Why? Who knows, just because I guess.

Propane

Gas In the KC.MO area is around $1.60. It cost me $30.00 to fill my Crewcab. That will last me until next friday if I just drive to work and home.

I'm tired of all this "Well, in Pango-Pango, we have to draw straws to see who gets to buy the avaliable ten gallons of gas at $4,238.99 per gallon." Or the good ole gas is cheap, comparatively speech too. Gas is NOT cheap. Furthermore, it isn't right that the price of a gallon of gas can fluctuate $0.25 overnight. It isn't right that the price of a gallon of gas can almost double in 4 days time.

"Well, production is down." I say bulls***. There's plenty of production, otherwise there'd be no gas at gas stations.

"Well, they have to reformulate it so it will be safer for the environment." Again, :bs.

All it is, is higher ups in the gas industry lining their already fat deep pockets.

Yeah, our national gas company and pickpockets made twice as much profit as last year, not because they soild more gas,.. no, because they keep increasing the price. The government profits from it too because of the tax (2 types so tax over tax) on it.

An LP tank is liquid propane and that is what we use to heat our home, water and stove. It gets filled twice a year. The price is always about 40 cents higher per gallon in the winter.

LPG = Liquified Petrol Gas, it's the lightest fraction that used to be burned on top of a stripper. Lots of cars here run on LPG.

I don't consider myself lucky, I attribute it more to making good financial decisions and a lot of hard work over the last 25+ years of my wife and mines lives.

I'm all for pulling my share if something you need or want has a price increase, and it's justified. What frosts me is gas prices typically rise coincidentally on holidays, and during summer vacation.Everone knows that's when people would be willing to pay the increase,so they sock it to them.Soon as the season's over, the price slips back down. This to me is wrong and I wish I were in a position to stop it. :mad

My RV takes 95 gallons of Diesel to fill and gets roughly 5 miles to the gallon, but fuel is still cheaper then it could be. What does a gallon of milk run or a gallon of juice?
It really irritates me that prices fluxuate so much, but that's capitalism at its best. Supply and demand and all that stuff. I feel the pain though.

Gas prices are definately increasing. I think it increased 4 cents yesterday. Its still not as bad as it was 8 months ago when I first got my liscense. I was paying $1.99 for premium. Now its about $1.93/gal. I think its a 12 gallon tank, so thats a few dollars over 20 bucks, not too bad. I still will not pay more than $20 for gas. I make sure to go to the pump at 1/4 tank or deal with filling up to 3/4 tank. Yes, gas prices are rising, but we can deal with it because hopefully it will fall again once the whole deal is overwith in the middle east.
