BB guys using cast aluminum timing belt covers.
What kind of timing pointer are you using? I bought a Trans Dapt chrome pointer and it won't fit over the edge of the cover?? All these little things are really a PIA! :cuss So then I bought a Tavia pointer which fits but the closest I can get it to line up to TDC is about 6-8 degrees off! WTF???
What's everyone else using?
Sometimes I think I shoulda stuck with all stock type components.

I did the Proform balancer cover and Summit pointer and it lasted all of 20 miles before self destruction. Ended up with Mr. Gasket tining tape and a chrome tab, which lasted only long enough to recurve the distributer. Now the timing is set in stone and I'm not moving it.Tape fell off long ago.
You would think there is some kind of standard that aftermarket parts would have to meet, but I guess there isn't. This is the price we modders must pay.

Thanks for the input. I just don't like the idea of timing by ear. :lolg:
