Default Vacuum and Emissions Hose Routing

Can anyone refer me to a place that diagrams the various emissions and vaccum hoses on a '72 base small block? One of the things I am trying to determine is whether connection to the vapor cannister behind the left front wheel is essential to the PCV system's operation. Appreciate any help.

You might try a factory service manual for that, they usually have the hose routings in them. E-bay usually has someone selling one of those manuals at only a fraction of what the retail vendors want.

I also have a 72 base small block. If I recall the hoses for the vacuum canister only go to the fuel tank for a valve mounted on the tank
